Plain-language summary. You can read Bluelearn without accepting any non-essential cookies. The only cookies we set are the ones that actually make the site work, keeping your session and preventing abuse. We don't track you across the web.
1 · What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Some are essential (the site can't function without them), and some are non-essential (preferences, analytics, advertising). We only set essential and basic-preference cookies, and we explain each one below.
2 · What we use
| Cookie | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
session |
Keeps you signed in after you log in. Set only once you have an account and authenticate, via our authentication provider. | Essential |
like |
Remembers that you've liked a blog post (paired with your observed IP) so the same visitor can't inflate the count. | Essential |
prefs |
Stores lightweight display preferences (for example, dismissing a one-time notice) so we don't nag you again. | Preference |
Exact cookie names and lifetimes will be finalized as the product launches; this table will be kept accurate to what the live site sets.
3 · What we don't use
- No advertising cookies. We don't run ads, so we don't set ad or retargeting cookies.
- No cross-site tracking. We don't share cookie data with third-party trackers or data brokers.
- No selling. We never sell personal data. It's a binding commitment in our governance principles.
4 · Provider cookies
Some infrastructure providers may set their own functional or security cookies when they serve or protect the site:
- Cloudflare: security and performance cookies used to deliver and protect the site.
- Supabase: authentication/session handling for signed-in users.
These are functional, not advertising. The blog's content provider (Sanity) is read-only and used to display posts.
5 · Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. If you block essential cookies, signing in and some interactive features won't work, but you can still read everything. Most browsers also honor a Global Privacy Control / "Do Not Track" signal, and we design the site to need as little as possible regardless.
6 · Changes
If our cookie use changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the community where appropriate.
